Checking out Thousand Eyes Network Monitoring

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all are having a good holiday.

I have been recently playing around with the thousand eyes network monitoring tool.

This tool is very powerful and useful for testing internet connections and troubleshooting issues from routing to SIP.

While examining the tool the system provides the ability to monitor you external network from various geographic points around the world.

you can check for latency spikes and network issues from all of these points around the internet you can also deploy an “Enterprise agent”.

This agent allows you to source traffic from point on your own network to another point either internally or externally.

Check out my below video on this tool then check out a thousand eyes website

How to perform a CSRF attack

Hello All,

In my latest youtube video, I show you how to perform a CSRF attack ( Cross Site Request Forgery).

This type of attack allows an attacker to hijack a browser section to push a user to do something without knowing like changing his or her password.

Cross Site Request Forgery

This type of attack can be mitigated with proper website coding using tokens that would not allow the same request to be sent twice with the same token.

You can get more information about this attack on the OWASP site.

Endian UTM install and Review

I took the time to explore the Endian  UTM that I came across on the interwebs. UTM

This UTM is a good choice for the home user it comes with the standard tools like CLAMAV and SNORT  its a light weight UTM.

As with most LINUX  based UTM’S such as Untangle and Sophos you will need to allocate a dedicated machine or use a VM.

The installation is simple and the web interface is easy to use. The specs needed are also reasonable they even included NTOP directly on the UTM which offers great visibility into the network.

Again this solution is not for a business as it doesn’t meet some of the business needs but this would be a great UTM for the home.

They do however provide a business edition with all of the needed business features.
